Notes:

Entry #9. Today, I decided to bring N0V4 with me on the expedition, as he was whining and begging me to do so. He usually does not act in such a way, so in order to find out why he was exhibiting abnormal behaviours, I decided to allow this trip. He was very excited. His cord tail would not stop waving.

I returned to scout out the land more thoroughly, and I have found out that there was a civilization here before, perhaps thousands of years ago. There are the tops of buildings and houses peeking from the bottom of the forest floor. Ruins of big cities are overrun with jungle and fern. It is interesting how quickly nature can reclaim what is theirs. I’m not sure how advanced the civilization was, but considering it got wiped out, it cannot have been very intelligent.

I tried to find the cause of extinction, but there was nothing I could see from ground view. It was only when I went out to space to look for clues that I saw it: a gigantic chunk of the planet was blown out. I think it is safe to assume that it was a meteor of some sort. I find irony in this, as I was doing research on your world, and the extinction of some animals were also due to asteroids. Yet here you humans are. I’m not sure which world is luckier.

I also have cause to believe that Cyno [Feral] maintained a positive relationship with the humans. While I was surveying the beach, something washed onto the shore. It was a small pin, or a badge of sorts. It miraculously not only survived the meteor, but years of erosion and bad weather. The package that it was in was torn almost to pieces. However, through the dirt and the grime, I saw something very similar to how a Cyno would look like. Mismatched eyes, motifs of stars, a dash of blue. When the tide flipped it over, I also saw some letters: “y”, “s”, “ae”. Those are letters used in the name “Cynosurae”.

I would do research on the downfall of this civilization, but I will leave that to N0V4’s computing. After all, I am simply searching for willing and useful candidates to use against the being that destroyed my universe. I am not making friends.

Another thing to note: while I was out in space, N0V4 went missing for a while. I am not worried, however, because he is in holographic form and I can easily track his location. I spent the rest of my day making notes on the world, and returned home after.

To my surprise, N0V4 did not follow me back, and as of now, I have still yet to see him. I must keep today’s entry short, as I need to pinpoint where he currently is in order to pick him up tomorrow. Again, I must stress that I am not scared or worried. Simply interested in why he has decided not to return yet.
